Ibiza Rocks announces star studded line-up
The ever popular Ibiza Rocks has announced a list of big names that will perform at the hotel venue over the 2012 season.
Kaiser Chiefs, Kasabian, Bloc Party as well as the BBC Radio One dj Zane Lowe have been named in the summer line-up beginning on Wednesday, June 6.
The venue, which launched in 2008, has been one of the great successes of Ibiza in recent years with ever more bigger rock acts coming to the White Isle. Despite being traditionally a dance mecca for millions of clubbers, many artists have enjoyed the experience of playing in Ibiza.
Dizzie Rascal, who played at the venue last year, said: “The vibe here is immense. It’s like one big holiday, one big party, everyone’s happy.”
Professor Green, who is set to play again at Ibiza Rocks on July 18 said: “It was my first time doing Ibiza Rocks, and it’s been incredible. The crowds are well up for it, to say the least. It’s mental!”
Another coup for the hedonistic club night has been to get the recently reformed 'Blue Monday' group New Order that will play their first ever live show in Ibiza on September 12.
Kaiser Chiefs - who played at one of the first ever bills of the Ibiza rocks festival in 2005 - are also looking forward to appearing again.
Keyboardist Nick 'Peanut' Baines said: ''We've done Ibiza Rocks a couple of times before, and it's great because everyone's on holiday. We did it back in 2005 and [singer] Ricky [Wilson] jumped into the crowd. When you're in Ibiza, it seems like more of a relaxing time compared to other gigs.”
